Do you already know the nightly builds available at
<ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/> and
<ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/>?

You may just extract the tar.bz2 archive somewhere and run it directly
from the extracted directory.
