Re: [orca-list] How can I change Orca settings globally?

Hi Bill:

Orca's settings.py contains all the default values for Orca. So, you might try patching that for Vinux. The
good thing you'll run into with Vinux, I suspect, is that you will have control over the entire environment.
As a result, you will be able to make some assumptions about what is installed/available that we cannot make.

I also need to configure Orca user settings globally for speech rate,
and a few other things. This will allow gdm's copy of Orca to sound
like the user's. Is this simply editing a python file somewhere?

I want to install Stormdragon's orca-customizations.py script
globally, so that each user on the machine gets access to it, without
having to re-enter the zip code. Is there a simple way to do this?
Or, if I could globally set the zipCode variable, that would do the
trick.

Thanks,
Bill
