Re: [orca-list] uppercase pitch staying as default orca 2.31.3 opentts

I can't say I can reproduce your problem. I just went into Orca and
messed about in the speech page and could always hear the slider for
speech pitch spoken. I also never ran into any situations with speech
getting stuck in a higher pitch.

Now for the capital being spoken before every capitalized letter, that
is an issue with the way the current default code passes characters to
speech dispatcher and its espeak. The patch I made to address
speaking of icons in Open Office Writer bullet lists, the behavior
changes to use pitch instead. That turned out to be a side effect of
my change.

Hi,
I have not read about this being a bug but allow me to try and
explain what has just happened.

I am testing opentts from the vinux testing repos with orca as
mentioned in topic.

Havnt got the opentts-voxin working on the 64bit yet so am using espeak.

I have noticed that instead of a capital being higher pitch its
saying capital L etc.

I went into orca options to see if there was a setting for it, when
I checked the uppercase settings pitch etc I went to the ok button.
Unfortunately for me orca kept speaking everything in the upper case pitch.

Now when I go back into speech tab wether its default uppercase or i
guess hyperlink i can not read the sliders for volume speed or
pitch.
I can adjust them but orca is not reading the indicators, even if I
try flat review.

Can anyone re-poduce this and let me know I am not crazy.

Thanks
Rob aka Fudge
