Re: [orca-list] Information about your product ORCA

From: Monica Giraldo <mgiraldo cim upc edu>

We would like to know:

   * If you use any standard of accessibility or if you have used one
   * during the desing of your product.

Orca are programmed using ATK and at-spi API, both open
standards. These are the ones most used in Linux systems.

   * If you have any entity of reference in accessibility.
   * and what meassures of protection of data you use.

Entity of reference? What kind of data it is required to protect?
Protect against ? Could you ellaborate this questions?

We would also like to know if you have any kind of financing or
subsidy for people with dissabilities that doesnt have enough economic
resourses?.

I don't understand this question. This is a mailing list for users and
developers of Orca, in summary Orca community. Right now Orca it isn't
a company or entity, so it can't provide subsidies.

Anyway, if you are asking if Orca has any help in order to get the
program cheaper to people without resources, take into account that as
most free (free as in freedom) software programs, it is free (free as
without cost). You can download current stable release [1], or
directly get the code [2], or use any Linux distribution with GNOME
(Ubuntu, Vinux, etc).

Do you know the date of the current version of the
program?

You can download the current stable release (gnome 2-30) of orca from
gnome repository [1]. As you can see, the last update was made on
21-June-2010. You can get the current in-development source code from
the git repository [2].

Anyway, usually people uses orca version included with the Linux
distribution they use (ie: Ubuntu, Vinux, OpenSuse) etc. Which version
of Orca they are using depends on each distribution.

Anyway, current Orca maintainer, Joanmarie Digss would be able to
answer your questions with more accuracy.
