Yes, I'm using it that way right now.  I just set my modifier key to
KP+Insert and all is fine.  I just couldn't resist expressing my
preference for the default when others started pushing their views;
after all, that's what free discussion is all about:).  I guess that
second insert key is a safe-guard for those who don't have a numeric
pad which is so often the case with laptops.
