Hello,
Regarding the accessibility of applications I would say if orca was
to work around every problem then application developers wouldn't
see the need to follow accessibility standards as other applications
which don't follow accessibility work fine. The other point is that
the application developer is probably the one best placed to know
what information is useful to users and how it should behave, so
they would be best at making their applications tell the
accessibility framework what information to present.

I also like the idea of getting the toolkits to be generically
accessible as they are typical common layers that many apps will use.
One can get more bang for the buck so to speak. In those cases, app
developers can spend more effort on using the toolkit properly and
accessibility would sijply just work. You get the best of both worlds
that way.

Now if we can get wxwidgets to use ATK, we'll open up some more
powerful applications like FileZilla and GNU Cash.
