I think I would start completely over from scratch! I know no one
likes to hear or have to do that but When I messed with Debian last
year and tried going up to Unstable and then fall back due to some
critical errors, it completely fell apart. I just figured at that
point to start over and moved on. You probably have too many packages
out of sync now.
