Re: [orca-list] Speech Dispatcher and OpenTTS Merging

Well then, I may have to leave the openttsfactory.py module in place a
little longer but if we have to do any fixes for speech dispatcher's
factory module, I will simply leave openttsfactory.py there but
unmodified. Since opentts isn't going to undergo any further
development, I will not support any further changes to
openttsfactory.py unless someone else wants to. I'm just trying to
prevent the need for duplicate modules and possibly having to make
changes to two parallel modules.

I think what I might need to do is create a new bug for the removal of
opentts support but ask that it not be implemented into master until
Vinux goes back to speech dispatcher. Is that fair enough?

I use opentts full time, as do a few Vinux testers. None of us use
speech-dispatcher-0.7 because speechd-up doesn't work with it
currently. That needs to be fixed before we can support any new
speech-dispatcher release in Vinux. I'll probably get time to work
with William Hubbs to get a solid version of speechd-up that we can
use with speech-dispatcher 0.7.
