Re: [orca-list] The .py file is edited and recompiled. The modification works perfectly!

Hi Chris.
The first step is open the bug in the bugzilla. You need an account.
The second step is create a patch with the changes and attach to the bug.
One way to create the patch, if you are not using git, is to use the diff statement.
Something like:
diff -u OldFile NewFile

One thing to consider:
The ideal is create the patch based in version that is in the git repository. You can open the bug and I can create the patch, if there is no problem for you.

You can find information about git at: http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/gittutorial.html
Let me knoe if you need more information.

JosÃ,

I can help Ben do this. I am just a bit curious though. Do I need to show
him how to attach that .py file specifically to the bug, or is that
something once opened you! can then go in and attach for us?

Let us know how you want to proceed with this. Again thanks for helping
both of us with this!

Chris.

Hi Ben.
Congratulations!
Can you file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org?
With the bug opened we can attach a patch to the bug and if approved, it
will be applied.
Thanks.

Jose,

Thank you so much for helping us out with this matter. Neither Chris nor
I know Python, so your source code posting helps tremendously. Chris
came in through SSH and he modified and recompiled the code. I
relaunched Orca, and it worked like a charm. If possible, can you or
someone else submit this to the GIT Clone git://git.gnome.org/orca
repository as a nightly build? We're willing to submit it, but we need
to know the steps by which to do so. We promise that Jose will get the
full credit for the addition. Please be aware that this is not a bug. It
is an omission. It wasn't that the code was broken. The code was not
there at the start. The developers must have forgotten to add the needed
lines.

JosÃ,

A modificaÃÃo que vocà tem proposto funcionou perfeitamente! O meu amigo
Chris me ajuda muitÃssimo.

Thanks a ton,

Ben
