Hi Josh:

What you've experienced should not be the base.  The following 
attributes plus the left and right margins should be the attributes 
spoken by default:

  "size:; family-name:; weight:400; indent:0; underline:none; " \
  "strikethrough:false; justification:left; style:normal; " \
  "paragraph-style:;"

I deleted my ~/.orca and then tested this with the sources from the 
gnome-2-26 branch of Orca and OOo 3.0.  The default values were spoken 
just fine for me.  So, I wonder if something unexpected happened as a 
result of upgrading vs. doing a fresh install.
