Re: [orca-list] At-SPI

Hi James:

GAIL has been rolled into GTK+, so it's not something you update separately anymore. This is good in that it means a11y is much more tied to the toolkit, which is what we want. It's bad, however, because it can mean needing to update the whole GTK+ toolkit to get a GAIL fix.

You can choose to remove the installed at-spi before you build it and install it, and your OS will probably less confused if you do. I tend to be lazy, however, and just build/install at-spi right over the top of what is already there. Your mileage will vary, especially when it comes to how well you can find your way out of any holes you might dig for yourself. :-)

Hi folks,
I think I read somewhere that we no longer needto install gail when updating AT-SPI is this right? Also, do we need to sue apt-get to remove at-spi first or can we just update it following the instructions on gnome.org? Thanks James
