Oh ok,

I am using the speech-dispatcher backedn.and am unable to reproduce the
behavior you describe.

With a "locate *" I get huge amounts of output and speech stops when I hit
control and also stops if i end the command with control-c.
P
perhaps the gnome-speech backend behaves differently.

I believe I'm using gnome speech (at least this is the only option that
shows up in the Orca speech preferences).

1. In the gnome-terminal run a command that produces a lot of output to
the terminal. For example, make and install some packages where the
make will produce a lot of output.
2. I can't get Orca to stop speaking before it finishes speaking all of
the text which is output to the terminal. I can't even Alt+Tab to
another application or Alt+F1 to get to the applications menu.

Is this an Orca issue or should I contact the voxin distributors? I
downloaded voxin just the other day, so this should be the latest
version. I'm also running the latest development version of Orca.

Thanks.

Which package is recommended with Orca? Speech dispatcher or gnome speech?

How do I install speech dispatcher? Is it in the Update manager system?

Thanks.
