Hi:
I made a change to the Orca sources in the git master branch today as a
result of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=561452
In nutshell: Orca was using liblouis 1.5.2 and Orca's own custom Python
module for liblouis. This was necessary because liblouis didn't provide
its own Python bindings. Liblouis now has its own Python bindings, so
we've migrated the code to use those bindings. Moving to the Python
bindings provided directly by liblouis is the right thing to do.
Without this, Orca users would not be able to easily take advantage of
updates to liblouis.
The impact, however, is that you need to upgrade to liblouis 1.6.2 and
also build/install its Python bindings to use contracted braille with
Orca from the git master branch.
I've updated http://live.gnome.org/Orca/Braille with instructions for
how to build/install liblouis 1.6.2 and the liblouis 1.6.2 Python bindings.
