[orca-list] Installing from sources on Ubuntu

Hi guys,

Another newby-linux user question:

I'm trying to install Songbird on my laptop. Tried both the apt-get and synaptic but haven't got any success... When I look for Songbird on synaptic, the only thing it finds is the Music Tracker for     Pigeon.

But after further reading, I've discovered that the most important file for compiling the sources, the configure shell-script, is not on the package, as far as I could see.

So, I can't do make and make install. Perhaps, and I hope it is true, I am missing something.

What to do in these sircumstances?

Thanks in advance for your help. If is there any comprehensive documentation on the web regarding this subject, which I might be unable to find, please let me know.

Peace,

Edu.
