Hi,
I received the same messages when compiling in my karmic box.
I believe to be solved with the following steps:
sudo apt-get purge libportaudio-dev
sudo apt-get install portaudio19-dev

I am trying to compile that version but I get error saying some thing
like:
Did you mv portaudio19.h portaudio.h as documented in the ReadMe file?
Yes I did the mv command in the src directory.
But still same errors.
Any ways if people are interested put this on the orca list else any
help off-line is most welcome.
Happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
