Oh, is navigating back in FF supposed to place me on the link from which
I moved forward? I don't think I've *ever* seen that behavior once in my
nearly 1.5 years of full-time Orca use, and it can't be web apps doing
things with focus in my instance because I have noscript running, so no
javascript unless allowed.
When encountering issues like this, it's tough to know which are FF and
which are Orca. I would have assumed, for instance, that this is a FF
issue, especially since when I brought it up last time I was pointed to
a Mozilla bug. But, in any case, it'd be great to have it fixed, and
it's pretty easy to reproduce since it always happens. :)

I also get this being placed back at the top of a page when going
back. I am using orca 2.27.5 package from debian experimental
repository. The rest of my system is GRML (using debian unstable for
debian packages, such as gnome).
As I remember this issue has been present on my system for sometime
(certainly back in the 2.26 versions of orca).
I think it is for all pages. Here is an example where I do get it
(just tried it) and I don't think it is to do with the page doing
unusual things with focus. Go to the orca wiki
http://live.gnome.org/Orca and select the accessible applications
link. Now read some of the page and then press alt+left cursor to go
back. I find I get placed at the top of the page.
Would a debug log file be useful?

Hi Alastair.
Regarding this:
2. In firefox, going back puts me to the top of the page rather than
on the link I came from. I definitely remember this being discussed
on the list in the past but can't remember the conclusion.
A fix was put into Orca quite some time ago. I just tried it and it is
still working for me.
Note that some sites do things to the focused object when it is
activated (like remove focus from it). Other sites change focus when a
page is (re)loaded. We have no control over those things and do not
attempt to override the default behavior of such sites.
Are you finding this issue occurs all the time, or just on some pages?
Thanks and take care.
