Re: [orca-list] Updating the Wiki for git

Hey storm,
I tried following the directions from (http://live.gnome.org/GitMigration/Git) yesterday and was abel to get atk and at-spi, but orca failed.  I tried it today using the git://git.gnome.org/orca address and it worked.

I tested your method for getting a branch (git:// [...] /branches/gnome-2-20 (the old svn method only with git), and it failed.  following the instructions from (http://live.gnome.org/GitMigration/Git) worked.

git clone git://git.gnome.org/orca orca
cd orca
git branches -r
git checkout origin/gnome-2-20

the command "git branches -r" displays a list of what svn called branches.  From that command, it looks like the syntax for the stable release is "git checkout origin/gnome-#-##" where #-## corisponds to the gnome release you want (i.e. 2-22, 2-26 etc).

Thanks for updating the wiki:-)

P.S.
According to Willy Walker (http://mail.gnome.org/archives/orca-list/2009-April/msg00101.html)

"GAIL has been moved into GTK+, so you should no longer need to build/install it. In fact, doing so might conflict with the GAIL that comes with GTK+."

So someone should maybe remove gail from the instructions.  I'd do it myself, but ou already know the problems I'm having with tat (Thanks for your help narrowing down the problem).
