Re: [orca-list] questions about compiling orca

In this situation I'll have orca installed in two places, /usr/bin and /usr/local/bin.

How can I determine which version is running?
Could be possible orca announce its version in the startup?

Thanks.

Hi:

If you use intrepid, the difference between the Orca that comes with it and the Orca from trunk are very small right now. In addition, you really won't need to update the infrastructure as well.

But, if you really want the latest orca from svn trunk, you can grab it and run "./autogen.sh" without any parameters. This will set up the build to install orca under /usr/local. When you do this, you will have the intrepid version under /usr/bin and your svn trunk version under /usr/local. I *think* this should work.

Hi all,

Actually I'm running intrepid with orca 2.23.92 and I'd like to upgrade to latest orca from trunk.

I've the following questions:
1: The instructions that I found at http://live.gnome.org/Orca/DownloadInstall are sufficient and actual?

2: Do I need install the Latest AT-SPI Infrastructure (atk, gail, at-spi) as pointed in the page? Actually I've intrepid installed and I try to upgrade it every day.

3: Do I need to remove the previous version of orca?

Thanks.
