Yes, I can reproduce this bug with all speech drivers. Victor Oliveira Aruni Sharma escreveu: Hi, I am not sure whether this is same everywhere. But I have noticed even with other applicaitons like ff that 'continuous reading' stops working. I solve this problem by opening speech preferences and switching to other synth or speech-driver and then everything is fine. please try this and let me know. thanks, Aruni. After reading from the beginning, reading stops for a few seconds and starts again from somewhere of that document.Yikes. That's no good. :-( I spent some time this evening trying to reproduce it, using documents ranging between 5 and 10 pages of text, OOo Writer 3.0, and Orca from trunk with SayAll by Sentence and SayAll by Line. I also varied the amount of load on my system. I was able to reproduce two pauses. I'm not sure what caused the first one, but I had a bunch of background processes going at the time. The second one coincided with OOo Writer autosaving my document. In both cases, however, SayAll picked up where it had left off. All of the other trials ran smoothly (i.e. without stopping for several seconds). So.... 1. What settings are you using? (i.e. orca-customizations.py, user-settings.py, and your app-settings for OOo) 2. What synthesizer are you using? 3. Can you reproduce this problem reliably with all documents, reliably with only some documents, or only sporadically (but often enough to be annoying)? 4. Can you generate a debug.out while demonstrating the problem? (Please see http://live.gnome.org/Orca/Debugging for more info on generating a debug.out) If you have a reliable test document and could attach it along with a debug.out and a description of your configuration (or even better, the actual setting files from item 1) to a new bug that would be awesome! This issue really needs to be adressed as This will totally discourage a new user from shifting to Ubuntu from Windows. Not only that, Persons like me will struggle really hard to get on with reading large documents.I totally agree. If you can help us reproduce the problem we will hopefully be able to get to the bottom of it soon. Thanks in advance! Take care. --Joanie _______________________________________________ Orca-list mailing list Orca-list gnome org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/orca-list Visit http://live.gnome.org/Orca for more information on Orca_______________________________________________ Orca-list mailing list Orca-list gnome org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/orca-list Visit http://live.gnome.org/Orca for more information on Orca |
