Re: [orca-list] orca and eclipse

Did the version of eclipse which came with ubuntu freeze when you closed
it?

This freezing on closing eclipse is something I have found in general. I
don't know what causes it, the only way I found to continue was to
logout and log back in (you could use kill to stop it, but that's your
choice to make).

I think there is an orca bug about this (as this freezes orca as well,
but I couldn't say whether this really is orca or eclipse causing the
problem).

I have just looked for a bug on this, not filed against orca, it seems
possibly more general, see bug 546542
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=546542). I don't know fully
what happened with this bug as the indication there was that it was
reported against the wrong product/component and I couldn't find any
other on the topic.

I need help to upgrade eclipse.
I tried to install eclipse fusing a a tar ball download from the
eclipse's site but i've some problems when running.

The problem is that eclipse freezes when I try to close it.

Is it the upgrade you want help with or is it the use of eclipse?

I'm slightly surprised that ubuntu uses such an old version of eclipse.

I thought eclipse could be installed anywhere from the tar balls at the
eclipse site, so you could do that and then create a link in
the /usr/bin/ directory. If you aren't going to use eclipse 3.2 then you
may as well uninstall the ubuntu package.

Hope that helps.

Hi all,
Does anyone in the list uses eclipse with orca?

I'm running eclipse 3.2 shipped with Ubuntu intrepid but I'd like to
upgrade to a newer version.

Any help would be appreciate.
Thanks.
