[orca-list] all sound gone in Orca

Hi.  I am a gentoo user, but I thought this would be a better place to
ask this quesiton -- I was trying unsuccessfully to play an audio cd
in gnome and I went to the sound under the preferences menu and I was
tabbing through when suddenly all sound ceased and now Orca does not
speak at all, although outside of gnome sound still works, so what
strange thing have I done and how can I rectify this?

I am using gnome 2.22 and Orca 2.22.1 using speech-dispatcher and
espeak.
