i am trying to create the file to be able to use the
administration tools in hardy but i am having problems.
it says what file to create but when i enter the first command in
the terminal which is something like sudo su--root i get a
command not found error after entering my password.
am i supposed to enter an actual text editor, create the
mentioned file on the admin page and just save it to the home
directory.
this is very confusing for the linux newby because nothing is
mentioned about text editing.
the only thing i can think of is either to create the file using
a text editor or to use the script command and create the file
that way which is why i am confused as just typing the commands
from the gnome terminal either says "command not found" or it
just lets you type the commands and then when you logout, the
administration in ubuntu is still the same.
what am i missing here please?
