Text selection indication in braille was added via bug 
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382601 which went into Orca 
v2.19.5 (a development release before Orca 2.20).

The selection indicator stuff is on the "Braille" tab of the 
configuration UI, and I just checked this with OOo, Gedit, and FF3 with 
Orca from svn trunk.  Seems to work fine for me.

If it's not working for you, please let us know which application you 
are using, which operating system (and version) you are on, and which 
version of Orca you are using.
