Re: [orca-list] sysadmin help

What do you get for output? You can ignore my earlier message about
your path. Sorry for the confusion.

Hello Herman,

Indeed. Mine shows $ instead of %.
But even then I got no access with orca after sudo synaptic.

Hello Jim,

The result of the sudo command is:
 sudo -h | -K | -k | -L | -l | -V | -v
usage: sudo [-bEHPS] [-p prompt] [-u username|#uid] [VAR=value]
            {-i | -s | <command>}
usage: sudo -e [-S] [-p prompt] [-u username|#uid] file ...

After the command "% sudo synaptic" the result is "cannot find command" .
I
tried to translate from Dutch.

Try simply:
sudo synaptic
That % seems to me a missunderstanding: Some shells indicate by showing
that "%" that one is logged in as user; the prompt looks like this:
user host:~%
When logged in as root you see:
root host:~#
Some shells replace the "%" by "$" when logged in as user.
I hope this clarifies the matter.
Hermann
