OK, I've confirmed that its ViaVoice's fault, at least as far as I can 
discern. If I change the speech engine to something else, the problem goes 
away.

It is strange that it mispronounces the string in Firefox, but not in the 
text editor. Haven't tried other tests / other apps.

Is there a place I can file ttSynth bugs?
