I think the issue with the shutdown menu is a gnome issue and is present 
on more than openSolaris.

As for seeing other drives, I don't know if OpenSolaris supports other 
file systems (eg. ntfs). I think there is work to get fuse and NTFS-3g 
to work on OpenSolaris (as I remember I did find a web page describing 
how to do this, but I don't have the URL).
