Hi Darragh and all.
You gave me a great idea. I installed Ubuntu in a desktop but the
desktop is used by my wife.
Since I've a laptop with jaws and windows installed and I actually need
windows to run some programs, I'll try VmWare.
Thanks.

Hello,
Yes. MWare works really well with Jaws.
There are plenty of hot keys for b oot, restart, power off etc.
To set focus to your running installation press control g. To return to windows, press control and alt.
Jaws automatically reads the tool tips in VMWare so it will report that you are either in the virtual machine
or in the host operating system depending on what your doing.
The system including Orca, BrlTTY etc depending on what your using works as if it was installed on a
dedicated computer.
The advantage is that VMware removes the need to set up modules to make your hardware work so for a new user
I would actually say that VMWare is a really good starting point.
Enjoy.

Subject: [orca-list] VmWare questions
Hi all,
As I have another Samsung laptop here running Windows, I'd like to
install Linux on there as well. However, I can't format this laptop and
also need Windows on it, I have some programs that wouldn't run under
Linux. Also, as this laptop has only one partition and I've experienced
some problems with dual booting, I'd like to install Linux in a virtual
machine. Has anyone tried that under Windows with VmWare or any other
program and how good does it work with Jaws? Also, as I don't have a
Braille display at the moment, I'll probably have to install Ubuntu
using the self-voicing installation. Does this work in a virtual box?
Thanks for helpful replies! :-)
Robin
