Re: [orca-list] How to make it speak??

Hello,

Orca doesn't work with KDE.

You'll need to provide more information about what you're doing to try and get Orca to work if you want specific instructions on solving a problem. Such as what distribution of Linux you're using and what steps you're taking to try and get Orca to talk. Orca should start talking as soon as you run it (it will enter a setup mode where you can choose your preferred voice and other setttings). It should then be able to provide access to the Gnome desktop as long as accessibility support has been enabled (which Orca will do for you when you run it for the first time).

Have you read all of the information on the Orca website?

live.gnome.org/Orca

It has information on instaling and configuring Orca.

Subject: [orca-list] How to make it speak??

Hi,
I'm an Italian blind user and I would like to
have an accessible computer with linux. I prefer
to use kde instead of gnome but, anyway, I cannot
make Orca speak in both the desktops.
I ask you if you could tell me some instructions
to make it speak. Theese instructions would have
to be more precise as possible due to my
blindness.
Thanks a lot to anyone who will pay attention to
my case.
Guido
