Re: [orca-list] Revision 3822 keeps on crashing while working

OK - with some more testing with other folks, I think we were able to reproduce and fix the problem. A new orca.in has been checked in, so please give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

Thanks!

OK - assuming you did this from the same exact shell where you were running Orca, I see the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS environment variable being set. Very odd. Can you try these steps next:

1) Open two shells.
2) In the first shell, run orca
3) In the second shell, run these commands after orca is up and running:

dbus-send --reply-timeout=100 --print-reply \
--dest=org.gnome.Orca / org.freedesktop.DBus.Peer.Ping
echo $?

You should get something like the following:

method return sender=:1.70 -> dest=:1.71 reply_serial=2
0

Thanks Hermann - yep. It's the watchdog that's kicking in. Hmmm....now to figure out why. Can you run this command from the same shell where you are running Orca and send me the env.out file?

env > env.out

My suspicion is that the DBUS session environment variable is not set up.

See attachment.
