As for the message dispatcher part it's completely new implementation of
message dispatching.  It's intended to be modular and extensible, it can
use multiple output modules (especially speech output and braille
output), it's written in Python, it can support multiple ways of
communication (especially SSIP and direct Python calls) and it uses TTS
API for speech output.  It should offer significantly more features than
current Speech Dispatcher (e.g. braille output, adding new message
priorities, additional frontends) and easier development, while it
should remain compatible with current SSIP so that it can be used as
direct Speech Dispatcher replacement.

The implementation is currently in a debugging stage, basic facilities
and SSIP support is written, but it doesn't work completely yet.  The
work has stalled for last months for common reasons (lack of resources,
more important work to do, no interest in and support of TTS API from
the community etc.).
