Hi Jonathan:
Nice to hear from you! It sounds like the "Say All" operation is being
invoked rather than the character review operation. When I look in the
Orca sources for laptop mode I see that SayAll is bound to the semicolon
and character review is bound to the comma.
Is it possible these keys might be switched on your keyboard?

If you make double click, orca reads all the document from cursor but orca
doesn't pronounce the character phonetically.
I don't know if this problem apears in old orca versions because I had WinXp
in my laptop only. I install feisty this week thanks to holidays....
The wiki is on wrong or orca laptop layout is wrong....?
