It will save the file in the directory where you ran the command.  Where
this actually is on a Windows box running Ubuntu in a VM session is out
of my scope of knowledge, though.

Hi Mike:

something like that, I ignored it and typed make and pressed enter.
It said "No rule specified for make no make file found."

This error usually means the ./configure failed.  Can you save the
output of running ./configure and post it as an attachment?  You can
save the output to a file called configure.out by doing the following:

./configure > configure.out 2>&1
