Hi Michael:

The Qt folks are not fans of the CORBA-based approach in the AT-SPI and 
have taken the route of writing their own incompatible accessibility 
API.  I believe it's still in a nascent form.  The last time I looked, 
it also seemed to require rewriting assistive technologies to work with 
it.  I could be wrong, though.

In the meantime,

There's some work being funded by the Mozilla Foundation to look at 
doing a compatible migration of AT-SPI from CORBA to DBus, however, 
which might make AT-SPI attractive again to the Qt folks:
