hello all,
I am aware that to build orca from source under ubuntu, the following
command is needed to set the build environment right.
sudo apt-get build-dep gnome-orca.
however this only works when there is internet connection with good bandwidth.
I often go to rural areas of India where there is little or no
internet connectivity.
now I can't give the above command if I were to build orce from source.
I have found a work around this by creating an apt-on cd where all the
packages on my laptop are already present.
but the problem here is that when I add this cd in my repos whith sudo
apt-cdrom add and then do the build-dep gnome-orca, the system still
tends to search for the internet repos and thus can't do any thing.
so now I am requesting other friends on the list to either provide me
the exact list of the packages to be installed using sudo apt-get
install or provide me a tar.bz2 or gz with all the deb packages which
I can just install with sudo dpkg -i *.deb in a single folder.
I can do with just the packages names because I already have the
apt-on cd ready and sudo apt-get install xxx will just do fine I
suppose.
if there is any other solution then please let me know.
actually the advantage of the latter approach of keeping all the
packages.deb in a single folder is that one need not worry of apt-get
install.
Please help me to help others who need it.
regards,
Krishnakant.
