Hi Michael:
Is Orca sufficiently separate from the underlying OS that there is
little difference, or is gnome slightly different on the different
platforms, leading to differences with Orca?
The goal is that Orca is sufficiently separate from the underlying OS.
Having said that, Orca is still somewhat tied to GNOME, and we keep
working on the bleeding edge. So...Orca runs best on GNOME 2.18 and
better at the moment. As a result, you're best bet is to pick a
distribution that has GNOME 2.18 or better.
