Hi Josh:
Wow! This would be great. Before you get too involved, let's talk
about various ways to accomplish this. We've been going over the
contracted braille puzzle a lot lately, so we probably should share
thoughts.
To answer your question, we try to keep some level of backwards
compatibility with BrlTTY 3.7.2. But, I'm also very comfortable with
saying "if you want contracted braille, use BrlTTY 3.8" if contracted
braille cannot be done with BrlTTY 3.7.2. Furthermore, in Orca's
braille.py module, you can infer that you're working with BrlTTY 3.8 or
better if the useBrlAPIBindings field is True.
Thanks!
Will

Hi all,
I'm working on getting contracted braille working. I have one question so far, is it safe to assume that orca will be
transitioning to the 3.8 brlapi, or should I also try and make things backwards compatible?
Cheers,
Josh
