when I try to kill festival and relaunch it again, it says its not running

Hi Cody
When you launch test-speech you get a list of all synthesis drivers
installed into your box.
This is a numbered list from 1 to n. Select the number or better type the
number that is your driver to test, for example type 1 and then enter to
select the first driver, would be festival-synthesis-driver.
So then pay attention to what test-speech prints in the screen.
What distribution are you using? Make sure that in your /etc/hosts file you
have in your 127.0.0.1 entry first the localhost hostname.
Something like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain bla.bla.bla
Good luck!
Javier.

Hi all
Cody select the driver that you want to use from Orca, I suppose you want
to
use festival, so select it.
If everything is OK test-speech has to give some speaking through
festival.
So then you can use it from Orca.
Regards,
Javier.
