Thanks Will,
I thought that I got the latest stuff from Gnome CVS, but maybe I needed
more than the two files I mentioned. However, I look forward to the new
release.

Bertil

Hi:
Orca 0.2.3 was released on 23-Apr and the message from 25-Apr was
regarding GNOME CVS HEAD (i.e., something that hasn't been bundled in an
'official' release yet). We're hammering away at the configuration
stuff this week and should be able to bundle a new release very soon.
If you want the latest stuff, though, you can pull it from 'orca' module
in the GNOME CVS repository (http://cvs.gnome.org).

PS - Thanks for the details in your message! Information such as what
you provided helps soooo much in being able to understand a problem
better.

Greetings,
I'm trying to install Orca 0.2.3 for the first time. I've replaced
configure.in and orca.spec.in with the latest files from CVS in order to
be able to run
orca --text-setup
in accordance with Will's message on April 25. However when I do that I
get the message
RuntimeError: could not open display
If I run startx and then run orca-setup an .orca directory is created with
an empty file called user-settings.py and a subdirectory called
orca-scripts with a file named __init__.py.
I'm running Fedora FC4 and configured Orca with prefix=/usr,
sysconfdir=/etc
and localstatedir=/var.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Bertil Smark Nilsson
