It seems some debug output was cut off. In another log i noticed the
following:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Loaded device plugin: NM6LowpanDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMBondDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMBridgeDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMDummyDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMEthernetDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMInfinibandDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMIPTunnelDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMMacsecDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMMacvlanDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMPppDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMTunDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMVethDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMVlanDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMVxlanDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMWireGuardDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMWpanDeviceFactory (internal)
Loaded device plugin: NMWifiFactory
(/usr/lib/NetworkManager/1.16.0/libnm-device-plugin-wifi.so)
Loaded device plugin: NMOvsFactory
(/usr/lib/NetworkManager/1.16.0/libnm-device-plugin-ovs.so)
Loaded device plugin: NMAtmManager
(/usr/lib/NetworkManager/1.16.0/libnm-device-plugin-adsl.so)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From another source it seems there should be a device plugin named
'NMWwanFactory', which is missing here. Could this be the reason?

Hi Antonio,
yes, after installing the system was rebooted.
I've removed the old connection and added the debug config option.
The log consists of the following commands:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
root@b2qt-apalis-imx6:~# systemctl restart NetworkManager
root@b2qt-apalis-imx6:~# nmcli c add type gsm ifname ttyUSB2 con-name
emnify apn em
Connection 'emnify' (86968473-227b-42d1-94ee-6abed0e66870) successfully
added.
root@b2qt-apalis-imx6:~# nmcli con up emnify
Error: Connection activation failed: No suitable device found for this
connection (device lo not available because device is strictly unmanaged).

Thanks!

Hi Kevin,
it might sound as a stupid advice but, have you restarted
NetworkManager after
installing ModemManager?
Because if you installed ModemManager and/or NetworkManager-wwan and
you didn't restart it NM won't be able to talk to
ModemManager and will thus not find the cdc-wdm0 device.
If this is not the issue please collect a TRACE-enabled log of
NetworkManager[1] so that we can inspect it.
Thanks,
Antonio
