On my laptop, I use a fully patched and up-to-date Ubuntu 17.10 (Gnome) and
OpenVPN 2.4.3. With this combination I cannot currently connect to any VPN
however much I try even though I can apparently create the references within
the gnome-control-center. In the days when I used Ubuntu 16.04, using
OpenVPN (I did not record the version) was simple - follow the instructions
and it worked.
So, a few newbie questions (apologies to all the experts who know the answer
- this is my 1st posting here). Has anyone, anywhere, anytime successfully
deployed OpenVPN out of the box on Ubuntu 17.10 (Gnome) and accessed their
VPN? Has anyone, /blah, bla/h, ... accessed a VPN after configuring
Ubuntu/OpenVPN (please specify what and how if you can). Lastly, are all
current Ubuntu/OpenVPN users trying to solve a problem caused by something
(e.g. NetworkManager, ...) and we may as well just wait till it's fixed.
All help and advice appreciated
