I have/had a match-all rule for networkd that enables some generic settings,
like IPv6 privacy extension.

Networkmanager is not the only service having trouble here: My vpn services
are fighting networkd as well, so looks like I should disable my match-all
rule and make things a bit more fine-graded.

So ignore my request, please... ;)
