[PATCH] main() init cleanups, logging improvements

The first few commits are just minor cleanups.

The last commit is just a useful log message improvement.

The overall goal was:

"Basically, this allows us to log messages about config file parsing and
 such, which *greatly* helps with debugging."

i.e. you can use nm_log_dbg() inside nm-config.c.
