Just for the record, my E3276 does appear to support the ^NDISSTATQRY?
command.
Franko, I am still not clear on why you object to using ^NDISDUP with this
modem.
-----------In the specification of E3276, it doesn't declare to support Linux system. So we don't test this
feature on E3276 in our lab before.
----------So we are worry that it maybe have some unexpected issues on Linux with NDISDUP dial-up through
PCUI port.
---------Therefore, we don't advice to dial-up E3276 with NDISDUP through PCUI port on Linux.
---------This is suitable for all of our Data Card modems, unless they can expose the standard ECM port on
Linux.
---------Hope that these information can help you.

Well, one thing is to have the feature but don't explicitly declare it
works in the specs, and another thing is totally avoid the feature even
if we know it works. If we can check the NDISDUP support ourselves and
it works, we can maybe extend the udev list with specific VID/PID pairs
of modems without the standard ECM port but which we know run well with
NDISDUP. Franko, what do you think of this?

Graham says he has been using the non-hi-link E3276 properly with
NDISDUP for some months now; what I now wonder is if we can find a udev
rule which applies only to that kind of device, and not to the hi-link
version of the E3276, which won't work with NDISDUP...
