network manager mostly invisible after power outrage

Hi guys, network manager has been working well for me until yesterday we had a power outrage. After booting the machine, the notification area shrink to a about 2 mm wide 5 mm high semi-transparent icon on the task bar. There is no more wireless on my machine, anybody knows how to handle this?
