NM connects to a mobile network even if "Mobile network" in tray icon's context menu is unchecked

Hi again
Here is the second question. Sometimes it happens that NetworkManager
connects to a mobile network (for which "Connect automatically" is set)
even if "Mobile network" item in tray icon's context menu is
unchecked. Shouldn't that context menu control which types of networks
NetworkManager should try to connect to?
