Because you didn't configured resolvconf to fix your nameserver in
/etc/resolv.conf.

You do that adding the line "nameserver 127.0.0.1" to
"/etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head" and reconnecting. There may be a
better way, indeed.
