Well, the error suggests that the problem is connected with the
wpa_supplicant.
It's either not running or in some bad state. /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log
would say more. Best follow http://live.gnome.org/NetworkManager/Debugging,
"Debugging WiFi Connections" section to enable debugging logs.
If wpa_supplicant is running, you can also get scan list via D-bus:
sudo dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=fi.epitest.hostap.WPASupplicant
/fi/epitest/hostap/WPASupplicant/Interfaces/0
fi.epitest.hostap.WPASupplicant.Interface.scanResults
(use
sudo dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=fi.epitest.hostap.WPASupplicant
/fi/epitest/hostap/WPASupplicant fi.epitest.hostap.WPASupplicant.getInterface
string:wlan0
to get the correct interface path)
