It's when you select an an interface in NM and remove the flag "roaming"
now this interface in not under control of NM but with the specific
method of your distro /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-XXXX
(redhat/fedora like) or /etc/network/interfaces (debian like) or eles
