hi guys,
I'm using the networkmanager from a Debian testing installation
(0.6.5-3) and I don't have tested with the svn version of the
networkmanger, but I have a problem with shared keys wep authentication.
When I try to use the nm-applet to fill the pass with "shared keys"
option the NetworkManager try:
Jan 14 10:09:47 sarang NetworkManager: Activation (eth2) Stage 1 of
5 (Device Prepare) complete.
Jan 14 10:09:47 sarang NetworkManager: Activation (eth2) Stage 2 of

Jan 14 10:09:47 sarang NetworkManager: Activation (eth2/wireless):

needed.

Jan 14 10:09:48 sarang NetworkManager: SUP: sending command
'ENABLE_NETWORK 0'
Jan 14 10:09:48 sarang NetworkManager: SUP: response was 'OK'
Until ok! But I got:
Jan 14 10:10:48 sarang NetworkManager: Activation (eth2/wireless):
association took too long (>60s), failing activation.
or (in other attempt):
Jan 14 11:26:27 sarang NetworkManager: Device 'eth2' DHCP
transaction took too long (>45s), stopping it.
I was reading some links, but I don't see a solution:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/networkmanager-list/2005-December/msg00157.html
http://www.redhat.com/archives/rhl-beta-list/2004-November/thread.html#00166
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/networkmanager-list/2005-August/msg00140.html
So I tested wpa_supplicant by the hand:
1. created a file "test.conf":
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
network={
ssid="impa-wl"
key_mgmt=NONE
auth_alg=SHARED
wep_key0="mypassword"
wep_tx_keyidx=0
}
2. executed the command:
# wpa_supplicant -i eth2 -d -c /home/amadeu/test.conf
and.. it works and the dhclient works fine too :)
My wpa_supplicant log is :

My essid is "imap-wl" of the WEP 128-bits with shared keys option. I
don't know which the AP model. My wireless card is a Broadcom 43xx.
And my iwconfig eth2 output show:

Someone could help me? :)
Thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english :)
