Well, first I will probably have to check if it works correctly. But do

In my opinion there is some problem in the switch or somewhere else in
the network so that auto negotiation does not work. In other networks,
my NIC has no problems. But since my sysadmin does not bother about
that really, I have to deal with the workaround to manually specify to
have full duplex. I have also read in other newsgroups that there are
some switches, which have this problem.
Nevertheless, I think that there should be a possibility to set driver
options manually somewhere while using nm, as it could be done with
ifup in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth* (as far as I understand).
